There are several reasons a spa cover for your hot tub is needed, and they are related to safety, health, finances, and aesthetics. By leaving a spa open and unattended, it can be a dangerous attraction for young children. In addition, when the heat from the sun shines into the uncovered water it can increase bacterial growth, leading to potential for illness and it will also increase the need for a new spa replacement filter cartridge more frequently. With a cover you will not have to worry about leaves and debris getting into the water. The covers are insulating, which helps maintain the water temperature after you have heated it. The typical 2 pound spa cover has an insulating factor of R19, and at Spa Care Center you can upgrade to a spa cover made of Super Foam, which has an insulating factor of R22. And last but not least, a covered hot tub is more attractive than an uncovered one. These reasons all support the importance of purchasing quality spa covers and lifters.
Spa Care Center only sells custom-made spa covers, based upon measurements you provide. Once made, these are not returnable, however, so it is important to be very careful in your measurements.
We have a variety of lifters available, and these can be seen and ordered from our Spa Cover Lifts page, in the Products section. These lifts not only protect your cover, but also protect your back! The average spa cover, with the Super Foam upgrade, weighs 55 pounds.

Replacement spa covers not necessary
When you buy your beautiful hot tub cover from Spa Care Center it is very important to provide the regular spa maintenance that it requires to keep it looking beautiful and working properly. If you do this it will not be necessary to purchase replacement spa covers for many years to come.
Wash your cover with plain soap and water, and use a vinyl protector. You can purchase a protector from Spa Care Center, but certainly never use one that was made for car vinyl. Car vinyl protectors have a silicone oil ingredient, which will actually destroy your spa cover. So exercise care and caution, and avoid purchasing replacement spa covers.
